Cathie Hong Interiors is a boutique interior design firm specializing in modern residential projects primarily throughout the Bay Area. This position is a full-time work-from-home position, however the applicant must be local to the Bay Area for necessary site visits, project management, and team collaboration. Projects and sites span South Bay, Peninsula, East Bay, Mill Valley, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco, with a handful of remote projects. We are looking for another designer to assist with technical drawings and drafting for our projects, provide support to the lead designer, design and source for projects, and assist with project management. This position requires excellent team collaboration and communication skills, CAD skills, high organizational skills and attention to detail.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Principal with design concepts and design plans for client projects

  • Develop detailed construction drawings (AutoCAD) for all projects

  • Create and/or redline floor, furniture, millwork and detail drawings in AutoCAD

  • Maintain detailed project timeline and delivery schedules

  • Collaborate internally with team and externally with architects, GCs, and clients

  • Source furniture, fabrics, wallcoverings, materials, hardware, tile, plumbing, fixtures and paint

  • Assisting with design and implementation of design

  • Provide construction administration

  • Develop client presentations in Google suite


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum of 3 years of residential drafting experience

  • Understanding and ability to draw basic MEP

  • Excellent in AutoCAD & has strong understanding of CAD standards

  • Proficient in SketchUp

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Thrive in a fast-paced and small-team environment

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

  • Must live in the Bay Area to be active at project sites as needed

  • Must have a car and an active driver’s license

  • Alignment with and keen understanding of CHI’s interior design aesthetic

  • Knowledge of design principles, standards, and space planning abilities

  • Passion for interior design, process, and client services
